Over 9 million lei for Independence Day military parade
The executive will allocate over 9 million lei for the military parade that will be staged in the Great National Assembly Square on the Independence Day, marked on August 27. A decision to this effect was taken in the June 8 meeting of the Government, at the suggestion of Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The money for organizing the military parade has not been earmarked in the 2011 state budget. The institutions involved will use this money for preparations and organizational activities. “The money will go to purchase the necessary equipment, fuel, food products, percussion instruments and other suppliers,” said Vitalie Marinuta.
The military parade will involve 1,528 military men of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Border Guard Service, as well as 86 units of transport and 600 units of armament and artillery.
