Over 80 singers and bands to compete in Eurovision
More than 80 singers and bands applied to take part in the national stage of Eurovision Song Contest. Most of the contenders filed applications close to the deadline, the head of the Eurovision organizational committee in Moldova Vitalie Cojocaru has told Info-Prim Neo.
Among the competitors are singers who represented Moldova in the previous contests. Nelly Ciobanu, who competed in Eurovision in 2009, will sing the song “Turn on the light”. Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira, who represented Moldova at Eurovision in 2010, will perform “Superman”. The contenders also include Akord with “Live the show”, Adrian Ursu with “Be yourself”, Cristina Croitoru with “Fight for love”, Irina Tarasiuc and MC Gootsa with “Save a little sunshine”.
The national stage of the contest will have three phases. The first phase is the internal examination where the jury will assess the quality and originality of the songs. The second phase is the public examination, where the competitors will sing live. The last stage is the live concert, where the decision will be taken 50% by the jury and 50% by televoting.
Moldova will take part in Eurovision Song Contest the eighth consecutive time. The 57th contest will take place in Azerbaijan’s Baku between May 22 and 26.
