More than 7,700 children from Chisinau will benefit from financial assistance at the start of the new school year. The allowance of 600 lei will be paid starting with Monday, August 10, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the head of the Executive Division of the Municipal Social Support Fund Mihai Sorochin, the money can be received at any branch of Banca de Economii. The parents must only show the identity card. The children that will get assistance from the Chisinau City Hall were selected by school principals together with the form masters. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca promised that the allowance will be higher the next years. From 2010, the children will eat in schools on the basis of nominal coupons. This way, according to the mayor, the money will be better managed. The City Hall has earmarked 4.3 million lei for helping children from vulnerable families.
