As many as 762 unemployed persons registered with local employment subdivisions benefited from vouchers for vocational training in the course of 2023. The nominal value of the vouchers was between 1,000 and 17,350 lei, the National Employment Agency said in a response to IPN.
All the 762 jobless persons benefited also from a non-taxable monthly scholarship equal to 35% of the average monthly salary in the economy for the previous year, granted proportionally to the attendance at vocational training courses.
The training courses for the profession of cook were the most popular ones (120 unemployed graduates), being followed by those for barber (91 unemployed graduates), accountant (66 unemployed graduates), and computer operator (38 unemployed graduates).
The beneficiaries are persons registered as unemployed with local unemployment subdivisions, who do not have a profession or have a profession that is not in demand on the labor market. The unemployed benefit from a voucher for vocational training courses only after they are offered career guidance services. The unemployed can benefit free of charge from only one vocational training course in a period of 24 consecutive months.
After graduating from voucher-based vocational training courses, 521 unemployed persons (66.2% of all graduates) were hired, including the unemployed who started training in 2022, but graduated in 2023.
