Over 70 settlements plunged into darkness
More than 70 settlements from 12 districts of the country remained without electric power owing to high winds on the afternoon of December 3, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
There were affected Criuleni, Anenii Noi, Causeni, Stefan Voda, Hancesti, Ialoveni, Orhei, Cantemir, Cimislia, Cahul and other districts. The strong winds damaged the roofs of a number of buildings in Valea Perjei village of Taraclia district, including of the mayor’s office, the wine factory and the poultry farm.
Weather forecasters issued a yellow code and orange code advisory for heavy rain and sleet for most parts of the country. The northwestern wind will intensify to 15-25 m/s.
