Over 70 passenger carriers are under investigation
Over 70 carriers on interurban routes are investigated by the police for various violations recorded during a two-day raid in the center and south of the country, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release of the Ministry of the Interior, the policemen found drivers who lacked the papers for passenger transportation, certificates of medical control and technical examination or route sheets. Others deviated from the schedule or didn’t issue tickets. The worst case was that of a driver on the Cahul-Chisinau who was caught driving drunk, which threatened the passengers’ lives. Criminal proceedings will likely be started against the 48-year-old driver.
During the two-day raid, 33 tickers were issued against drivers who violated the provisions of the Code of Administrative Offenses. The overall value of fines rises to 100,000 lei. The raid will continue throughout the country.
