Over 695,000 Moldovan households have registered on the governmental platform compensatii.gov.md to enjoy up to 59% off their energy bills for November. Almost eight in ten households were assigned the highest energy vulnerability score.
Social Protection Minister Marcel Spatari told the Government’s meeting on Wednesday that in November the households which didn’t apply for support were assigned a default score of “medium vulnerability”, but the default will change to “low vulnerability” already in December in a bid to prompt such households to register. Registration will remain open throughout the cold season, and energy vulnerability scores will be assigned on 25th of every month.
Spatari added that a number of applicants were found to have introduced obviously incorrect data, such as overstating their incomes. To reopen the application and request a review, applicants are asked to write an email at suport@compensatii.gov.md.
At the same time, the minister said that the households that received their November bills without the government support included should be able to see the amount in the next invoice, together with the support for December.
