More than 660,000 citizens will receive by 1,500 lei in assistance as from October 1. These include the recipients of all types of pensions and social welfare of less than 5,000 lei a month, IPN reports.

“The measure is designed to support the pensioners with low incomes who live in the Republic of Moldova and other categories of citizens who benefit from state social benefits, like the children with disabilities,” Minister of Labor and Social Protection Marcel Spatari stated in the Cabinet meeting.

The payments will be made through the agency of payment service providers that ensure the payment of pensions and state social benefits.

About 1 billion lei was allocated from the state budget following the last amendments made to it for paying this lump sum.
