More than 6,200 farmers from 30 districts asked for compensations for diminishing the consequences of the natural calamities of this year. The list of applicants for compensations for crop fields was examined in a meeting of the commission for removing the effects of natural disasters, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
The farmers asked for compensations for an area of 32,574.941 hectares of vegetable and multiannual plantations and crop fields.
Under the regulations concerning the partial compensation of the damage caused by the natural disasters of 2013, compensations are provided to agricultural companies, farms and private individuals whose crops were more than 60% affected. The compensation for vegetable and multiannual plantations is 1,000 lei per hectares, while for field crops is 390 lei per hectare.
A sum of 16 million lei was allocated from the Government’s reserve fund for reducing the consequences of the natural disasters of 2013.
