Approximately 6,200 children from Chisinau municipality have attempted summer camps so far this summer. Of these, 3,000 spent time in day camps, while the others in resident camps, with permanent regime, IPN reports.
In the June 20 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, the head of the municipal Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said there are 11 summer camps in the municipality of Chisinau. Three of them are municipal, while eight are privately owned. The others are day camps set up in education institutions.
No complaints have been received so far about serious problems in summer camps. Joint teams were set up to monitor the situation. “It was harder when it rained, but the activities were staged in playing halls. At some of the camps, it is the third stage of the program already,” stated Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb.
As regards the Baccalaureate session, the official said the session is not yet over. The last exam, in the Ukrainian and Bulgarian languages, is sat on June 21. A report on all the exams will be then compiled. The ninth graders took the capacity exams and some of the grades are being challenged. By July 1, the ninth graders will know their grades, except for those who will take the additional session because they failed the exams or could not come to them.
