More than 58% of the citizens are in favor of Moldova's accession to the European Union, while support for integration into NATO is much lower, standing at 30.9%, reveals the iData Barometer for March 2025, which was presented at a news conference hosted by IPN on Tuesday.

"We have a slightly higher percentage, compared to the last survey, of those who are pro-European – 58.6% are in favor of accession. 32.5% are against the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU, and 9% are undecided," said the director of the sociological company Data Inteligente Mihai Bologan.

Although the number of those who are pro-European increased slightly, their geographical distribution did not change much. Most of the pro-Europeans are in Chisinau and in the center of the country, and the fewest are in Comrat and Balti.

The respondents were asked if they are for or against Moldova's accession to NATO. Thus, 30.9% of those surveyed said they are in favor of joining NATO, and the majority – almost 55% – said they are against.

"In the regions, the opinions are quite divided, but we can see some weaker pro-NATO manifestations. We are talking about the south, Orhei, Balti and the north-west of the country. As to the rest, about 25% to almost 50% are in favor of Moldova's accession to NATO. Respectively, NATO is still a controversial topic in Moldova, which divides society," added Mihai Bologan.

The survey was carried out during March 14-25 and covered a sample of 1,007 people from 294 localities. The maximum sampling error is ±3%.
