More than 52,000 young people who turned or will turn 18 on the election day will be able to cast their ballots in the parliamentary elections on February 24, 2019 elections. These will be issued with a letter to this effect by the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.
“Parliamentary elections will take place on February 24, 2019. Go and vote! Your first vote represents the start of your road as a citizen who cares about his future, the future of his parents and grandparents, friends and, why not, of his future children. The team of the Central Election Commission encourages you to democratically exercise your right to vote. Before taking this step, don’t forget to inform yourself about the electoral competitors and electoral processes. If you are informed, you will be a powerful citizen and will be a worthy example for your generation! Vote! Your vote counts,” says the Commission’s message addressed to young people.
The effort forms part of the project “Enhancing Democracy in Moldova through Inclusive and Transparent Elections” that is implemented by UNDP Moldova with financial support from the USAID and the British Embassy in Chisinau through the Good Governance Fund and the Embassy of the Netherlands as part of the Matra Program.
