More than 500 parcels have been collected from all the settlements of Moldova for children from socially deprived families within the social campaign “A present – 1,000 smiles...” The campaign has been carried out by IS “Posta Moldovei” (“Moldova’s Post Office”) and the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, Info-Prim Neo reports. IS “Posta Moldovei” director general Stefan Munteanu told a press briefing on January 4 that most of the parcels were gathered in Ungheni, Chisinau, and Rezina. “We are now at the intermediary stage of the campaign, but already have results,” said the director. The parcels include clothes, toys, and schools supplies. “We know how much the children are awaiting the winter holidays. Together we decided to conduct this social campaign. We really wanted to have this involvement by what we do,” said Minister of Labor Valentina Buliga. There are several days left until the end of the campaign. In Moldova, there are about 20,000 children in a very difficult situation, even if the parents are at home. The campaign was launched on December 20 and will close on January 10. The parcels can be taken to the closest post office.
