Intervention teams of the public utility SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” on June 28 executed works to deal with 54 water pipe faults. In a press release, the company says that its employees acted promptly for all the problems to be fixed as soon as possible so that the consumers could benefit from services at optimal parameters, IPN reports.
A number of 62 interventions to deal with water supply problems on a number of Chisinau streets and 65 interventions to execute works on sewer pipes were planned for June 29.
The water pipes managed by SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” are over 1,910 km long. These are over 24 years old on average. Of the almost 2,000 km of water pipes, the steel pipes total over 800 km and are over 25 years. But the steep water pipes are recommended to be used for at most 15 years.
The company said that in accordance with the latest reports, the level of water in the Nistru River is of 8.8 m. This level enables the water pumping station on the Nistru, which supplies Chisinau with water, to work normally.
