Over 49,000 apartments in Chisinau haven’t paid all their heating bills. The utility, Termocom SA, urges the consumers to pay their debts, stressing that this is an essential condition for starting the heating season in time, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the utility, as of September 1, 49,430 apartments in Chisinau still had debts for heating. 43% of consumers have debts of 1000-3000 lei, 22% of them have debts of 3000-5000 lei. 11% have to pay an amount of 5000-7000 lei, while 24% have debts of over 7000 lei. Most of the apartments yet to pay their debts for consumed heat are in blocks administered by municipal enterprises of management of the housing fund (IMGFL), numbering 26,873 apartments. On the part of associations of owners of privatized houses, 15,842 haven’t paid their debts. Of the apartments administered by construction cooperatives, 5612 are still in debt. 1084 indebted apartments are administered by departmental institutions and 19 have direct contracts with Termocom. The heat utility urges debtors who signed payment rescheduling plans to respect their commitments. Otherwise, they will be sued. Previously, 22,000 debtors had signed plans of rescheduling the payment of debts.
