The voter turnout at 11am was over 475,000 or 16.61% of the electorate. The voters are today more active than in the first round of the presidential elections, when over 319,000 people voted by this hour, IPN reports
More than 95,000 voters or over 14.85% of the electorate made their choice in the municipality of Chisinau by 11am, as against over 60,000 electors or 9% in the first round.
The women became now more active than the men, the ratio being 50.78%:49.22%.
Some 42.2% of those who cast their ballots are aged between 56 and 70, 24.25% are aged 41-55, 16.43% are aged 26-40, 12.25% are older than 71, while 4.86% are aged between 18 and 25.
Polling stations in Moldova are open until 9pm. In the runoff vote, the elections are declared valid regardless of the voter turnout. The candidate with the highest score is declared winner. If both of the candidates get the same score, the candidate who gained more votes in the first round emerges victorious.
