More than 300 cases of tree or branch falling on the streets and inside residential areas in Chisinau have been reported in the first half of Thursday, April 20. Botanica and Buiucani districts and the Airport and Telecentru quarters were the worst hit. Power lines were damaged and some of the areas remained without electricity, IPN has learned from the Chisinau City Hall.

Response teams of the Green Areas Associations, the Chisinau Emergencies Division and the lighting company “Lumteh” were involved in the works to liquidate the consequences of sleet and snow.

More than 450 workers of housing stock managing companies and public amenities enterprises help alleviate the consequences of the bad weather inside yards of apartment buildings, where services can intervene with difficulty owing to the large number of parked vehicles.

Representatives of the City Hall call on the inhabitants of Chisinau to bypass trees and broken cables and not to leave the children unsupervised.
