Over 43 thousand Romanians from Republic of Moldova voted in presidential elections

More than 43 thousand Romanian citizens from the Republic of Moldova voted in the Romanian presidential elections, according to the data of the Central Election Bureau of Romania, quoted by IPN.

Most of them cast their ballots in Chisinau - over 21 thousand, 12 polling stations being open here. In Ialoveni over 2200 people voted, and in Orhei, over 1800 voters exercised their right to vote. The fewest voters were attested in Carabetovca - just over 170 people.

The citizens who chose to take part in the Romanian presidential election, could do so at one of the 37 polling stations opened by the Romanian embassy on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, for three days, November 8-10.

14 candidates ran in the Romanian Presidential elections. According to the preliminary data on the counting of votes in Romania, PNL candidate Klaus Iohannis ranks first. In second place is Viorica Dăncilă, the PSD candidate.

So far, no data are available on the voting preferences of the Romanians from the Republic of Moldova.
