More than 40,000 persons with disabilities will receive at least 400 lei each in financial assistance on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is marked on December 3. Over 16 million lei was allocated from the state budget for the purpose, IPN reports.

The financial support is distributed through the local social support funds. In the municipality of Chisinau, lump sums of 500 lei will be paid to 950 persons with hearing impairments, while of 1,000 lei to 50 persons with other types of disabilities.

Those entitled to aid from the municipality of Chisinau can collect the money from the branches of “Moldinconbank”, while those from the rest of the country – from the local officers of Moldova’s Post Office.

Such financial support is provided usually once a year, depending on the resources available in the local funds.
