More than 40 children from Moldova and Romania were awarded within the drawing contest “Story of Water” that was launched by SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) with support from the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport. The best works were exhibited on November 16 at the National Museum of Arts in Chisinau, where the students were awarded, Info-Prim Neo reports. ACC director general Constantin Becciev said that this is the first contest of the kind, but the company aims to make it a tradition. The event was staged to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the putting of the first water supply system in Chisinau into operation. “We are glad that the contest became an international one from its first edition. It involved children from Romania’s Constanta and Pitesti. We hope that the next contest will involve children from other states too. The children managed to impress us by their works,” stated Constantin Becciev. The authors of the works are first-ninth graders from four theoretical lyceums of Chisinau municipality, including “Ion si Doina Aldea-Teodorovici”, “Mihail Berezovschi”, “Liviu Deleanu”, and “Ginta Latina”, and from highs schools of Pitesti and Constanta. There were offered by two categories of prizes for the participants from the first-fourth grades and from the fifth-ninth grades. The winners received money awards of 700, 500, and 300 lei, and diplomas. The exhibition will be open until November 19. Afterward, the works will be exhibited at the company’s head office.
