On Sunday the Public Services Agency issued more than 3,500 IDs to enable citizens to cast votes in the legislative elections. 1,900 voters received provisional IDs and other 1,670 citizens received standard ID cards based on applications submitted earlier.
The Service says in a press release that the temporary IDs were issued free of charge to applicants with expired, lost, stolen or damaged IDs. In the municipality of Chisinau, 280 people requested the provisional document.
In the week prior to the election, the Service issued 1,700 temporary IDs and 16,283 standard IDs.
All ID issuing offices, including at the multifunctional centers of the Public Services Agency, stayed open throughout Election Day, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
