More than 3,500 farmers with over 2,000 units of agricultural machinery are expected to stage a nationwide protest on April 15. Alexandru Slusari, chairman of the National Union of Agricultural Producers Associations “UniAgroProtect”, has told IPN that almost all the national roads will be blocked.

The protest will start at 10am and the national roads will be blocked for an hour. Alexandru Slusari said the roads in Gagauzia and probably the Chisinau – Dubasari road will not be blocked.

The farmers demand increasing the agriculture subsidization fund up to 1.2 billion lei, unblocking lending in agriculture and reducing the interest rates on loans.
