More than 28,000 people used the services provided at the rehabilitation points set up by rescuers a week ago. Deputy head of the Emergencies Division Liviu Merzancu, in the June 27 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, said that the tents put up in the capital city were visited by over 10,000 people. At the tents, the people can drink cold water, protect themselves from the sun and have their blood pressure taken, if necessary.
In the same meeting, the deputy head of the Health Division Constantin Ramis said that the cases of acute diarrheal diseases have increased in number. From 220 to 300 such cases are recorded weekly. Almost 80% of the cases involve children. Though the rise is typical for this period of the year, the authorities will order additional measures to prevent the spread of infections.
