More than 25 million lei has been collected in the accounts opened by the Ministry of Finance for donations for containing the COVID-19 pandemic. The money is transferred to the Government’s Intervention Fund, IPN reports.
In a press release, the Ministry says that 23.528 million lei collected in donations from private individuals and legal entries have been distributed for the purpose.
By the Government decision of April 10, 2020, 5.864 million lei was allocated from this fund for purchasing over 51,000 protective suits and for providing one-off allowances of 16,000 lei to 29 employees of eight public health facilities and a budget-funded institution, who contracted the novel coronavirus at the workplace.
By the Government decision of April 17, 6 million lei was allocated from the Government’s Intervention Fund for providing one-off allowances to 375 employees who got COVID-19.
On May 13, the Government ordered to provide 6.544 million lei from the fund for paying such allowances to 409 healthcare workers who contracted the virus. Recently, it was ordered to allocate 5.12 million lei for paying allowances to 320 infected employees of health facilities.
