The electoral lists made out and definitively verified by the local public administrations include 2,549,804 citizens, who have the right to vote. The data were made public on Tuesday, March 17 by the Central Election Commission (CEC), Info-Prim Neo reports. Most voters are in Chisinau municipality - 627,889, the Gagauz area - 106,843 and Balti city – 105,628. The fewest voters are in Basarabeasca district - about 14 thousand, reads a communique of the CEC. According to the Electoral Code, the electoral lists are made out by city halls, in two copies for each polling station and they include all the citizens with the right to vote who live in their precincts. The lists are made public at least 20 days before the election day. For the parliamentary elections of April 5, 2009, the citizens have the opportunity to verify the lists from March 16 to 31. They have the right to make appeals to the polling station office against not being included in the lists or excluded, as well as against other errors made when registering the data about themselves or about other voters at least 5 days before the elections, that is till March 31, 2009.
