As many as 20,475 people will be accepted into the higher education establishments of Moldova, first cycle, according to the admission plans for this year. 33% of them will get a budget-funded place. The admission quotas at teacher training faculties, especially in primary and preschool education, have been increased. More places were allocated for engineering specialties, IPN reports.
A number of 9,218 places are offered for master’s studies, 3,568 of which are financed from the budget. In the Moldovan universities this year, there will be also admitted 915 foreign citizens, 345 of whom will have a budget-funded place, in accordance with intergovernmental agreements.
The secondary vocational education institutions will accept 12,035 persons, 11,665 of whom on a budget-funded place. The quotas at the faculties of agriculture, building trade and light industry will be raised following the inclusion of new professions.
As many as 8,355 persons will be enrolled in colleges, 4,771 of whom will be entitled to budget-funded places. The number was decreased by 400 in connection with the reform of the teacher-training colleges. But the number of persons who will be admitted to private colleges will be higher than last year.
