More than 20,000 tonnes of wheat from the state reserves will be lent to business entities based on a contract, upon the presentation of a bank or financial guarantee whose size will ensure restocking. A draft Government decision that was published for public consultations authorizes the Material Reserves Agency of the Ministry of Home Affairs to release wheat, IPN reports.
The draft says that 20,787 tonnes of food wheat of the 2017 harvest are to be replenished with wheat grown this year by October 1, 2021.
The wheat from the state reserves will be provided to applicant business entities, primarily to flour, bread and cake producers that satisfy the population’s needs and maintain social stability in the country.
A request to lend wheat from the state reserves for supporting the animal-breeding sector that was affected by the drought of 2020 was made by associations of meat and dairy producers. They assured the borrowed wheat will be restored from the 2021 harvest. The final beneficiaries will be decided by the Material Reserves Agency.
