In the course of last month, the Central Dispatcher’s Service of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) received over 1,300 calls concerning water pipe accidents and almost 1,000 calls regarding sewer pipe accidents. In all the reported cases, the intervention teams acted promptly so as to swiftly remedy the problems in the water supply and sewerage system, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the company.
To fix the reported problems, the company’s teams carried out a series of additional works. In 80 cases, there were replaced water pipes of up to 5 meters, while in 17 cases of over 5 meters, with the diameter of 25 to 800 millimeters. The workers repaired 25 valves and placed 21 manhole lids on sidewalk, in parks and in areas between apartment buildings, where these were absent.
According to ACC, the analysis of the technical-economic indicators of the company’s activity revealed a slight decrease in water losses in the process of dealing with accidents owing to the swift intervention measures taken by employees.
