During the first ten days of the introduction of mobile number portability, more than 2,000 persons asked to be changed from one mobile network operator to another by retaining their number, IPN reports.
According to the ICT Ministry, following the introduction of mobile number portability, the mobile phone carriers reviewed their charges and even reduced subscription prices. “The carriers now have to make additional effort to keep and attract clients by more attractive offers and services, at accessible charges,” said ICT Minister Pavel Filip.
The mobile number portability service was launched in Moldova on July 1. From August 1, this service will also cover the fixed-line phone numbers.
