More than 200 persons have become victims of swindlers after they applied to a company that provided training and employment services in the country and abroad. The firm’s director is suspected of appropriating over 80,000 lei by abuse of trust, IPN reports.

According to the Chisinau Police Division, the company started to work in Botanica district of Chisinau last October, being managed by a 24-year-old woman. The clients who had meetings with the firm’s administration were informed that they have to sign contracts and pay charges of 300 lei to 9,000 lei in four installments.

No client has been employed until now.  The firm’s administration argued that the necessary number of persons for initiating the courses hasn’t been yet gathered. But the investigators established that there were registered over 200 persons. The people were misled. They were offered other kinds of activities that had the same ending.

During the investigation, the company’s director could not show the documents allowing holding training courses or finding work for the applicants. A criminal case was started over swindle, which is punished with 7 to 10 years in jail.
