Over 200 parcels of clothes, footwear and provisions donated to families in Macaresti and Nemteni

Families of military men and civilian employees of the National Army and military priests collected more than 200 parcels of clothes, footwear and provisions for families from the flood-hot villages Macaresti of Ungheni district and Nemteni of Hancesti district, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Defense. The aid is further collected through the agency of the National Army’s Supplies Department. Servicemen of the Ungheni-based Artillery Division reinforced barrages built along the Prut and helped take villagers’ belongings to safer places. Forty-four houses have been saved from flooding. About 100 families have been evacuated from Macaresti as a result of the heavy rain. Forty-two houses and over 360 hectares of farmland and meadows have been inundated there. More than 200 homes have been flooded in Nemteni.
