Over 200 Moldovans employed in Israel based on governmental agreement

As many as 212 Moldovans of the 1,300 who filed applications went to work legally in the construction sector in Israel. The employment was possible owing to a bilateral intergovernmental agreement. Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga told a news conference that the other candidates weren’t hired because they didn’t meet the conditions stipulated in the work contract, IPN reports.

The available vacancies were intended for men aged between 25 and 50, without a criminal record and with qualifications in constructions, who have never been to Israel.

Under the agreement, there were to be recruited 1,000 skilled workers. The National Employment Agency carried out an information campaign in partnership with the International Center “La Strada”.

The representative of the non-resident ambassador of Israel to Moldova Reghina Akkerman said the Moldovan workers arrived in Israel and started work. They are provided with salaries, work conditions and social protection.

The work contract is valid for a year, but can be extended. On average, the builders have a salary of €1,000.

The agreement remains valid. Israel will propose new job offers.
