More than 20 localities were partially disconnected from the power supply as a result of the high winds of March 10. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, in the morning of March 11 the power supply in all of these settlements was restored, IPN reports.
The strong winds pulled away roof slates from at least ten houses in Zaicana village of Criuleni district. In Orhei, the wind damaged the roof of a storehouse. In Chisinau, the wind tore away two slates from the roofs of a five-story building situated on Moscovei Blvd. When falling down, the slates damaged a car parked nearby.
The State Hydrogeological Service issued a yellow code warning for high winds for March 10, extending it later for March 11. In parts, the wind is expected to intensify to 18-23 m/s.
Rescuers call on the people to be prudent and not to burn dry leaves and grass and household waste. In emergencies, one should call 112.
