More than 20 young people were awarded at the end of the symposium “SummArt Painter’s Campus 2013” that was held in Chisinau on June 15-22. In a workshop staged in a shopping center of Chisinau, young people from four countries made paintings that will be put up for auction in September, IPN reports.
The attendees included mainly young painters from Turkey. Attending the closing of the symposium, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Chisinau Mehmet Selim Kartal thanked the organizers for promoting the young people’s talent.
According to the diplomat, this symposium is dedicated to young painters who need support in order to showcase their talent. “I’m proud that I’m here. Our support is very important to these young people,” said Mehmet Selim Kartal, underlining that the event is unique because it brings together cultures from different countries.
The symposium’s art director Mehmet Subasi praised the young painters for showing talent and skill in such a short period of time. According to him, it is very hard to achieve such results in only a week.
As the previous years, the symposium involved painters from Moldova, Turkey, Romania, and the Unites States. In 2012, “SummArt Painter’s Campus” was held in July and brought together 19 painters.
