More than 20 localities in a number of districts of the country were fully or partially disconnected from the power supply. The supplier’s teams cannot intervene in some of the settlements as the roads are blocked due to drifting, IPN reports.
ÎCS “Premier Energy Distribution” SA said the heavy snowfalls and sleet with glazed frost and high winds affected the supply of electricity. Twenty-four localities in Cantemir, Leova, Stefan Vodă, Orhei, Ialoveni, Căușeni, Anenii Noi, Comrat and Cahul districts were fully or partially disconnected from the supply at 10am this morning.
“As there were reported already ten cases of cable ruptures and the risks are big, we warn the population to be maximally prudent and to obey the electrical safety rules so as to avoid accidents,” the supplier said in a press release. The people are urged to bypass and not tough the cables that fell down or are hanging. The distribution operator should be immediately informed about any incident on the nonstop service (022) 43 11 11 or the local operator indicated in the bill should be called.
