The Ministry of Education said that due to the unfavorable weather conditions, a number of kindergartens in four districts stopped work on a temporary basis. A secondary school with 74 students in Cantemir district was closed because the heating system malfunctioned, IPN reports.

Based on decisions taken by the local public authorities, nine kindergartens were closed in Leova district, six in Ocnita district, four in Cahul district and one in Briceni district. One kindergarten in Causeni and another one in Nisporeni stopped work because of faults in the heating system.

Sixty students could not be transported to school by three school bus routes in three districts – in Cantemir and Ungheni because the buses broke down, while in Telenesti because of the state of the road.

The Ministry of Education noted that the situation has improved compared with the previous days. In 26 districts, including Balti and Chisinau municipality, all the general education institutions work as usual.
