Over 184,000 people got compensated medicines last month

More than 184,000 people benefited from compensated medicines and medical devices in November. The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) transferred about 85.3 million lei to contracted pharmacies for the purpose, IPN reports.

About 45 million lei of the cost of compensated medicines for November was allocated for preparations intended for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. These are followed by oral antidiabetics, injectables and insulin analogues – over 16 million lei. Over 3.2 million lei was allocated for covering the costs of pharmaceuticals for children’s day care units.

For compensated medical devices, CNAM transferred about 4.8 million lei. Tests to determine blood sugar level were offered to about 15,000 people. Over 11,000 people got lancets, while more than 1,300 people benefited from insulin needles and syringes. Over 440 patients received urostomy and colostomy bags from pharmacies.

The prescription for compensated medicines and medical devices is valid in all pharmacies in the country contracted by CNAM.
