Over 180m lei to be allocated for organizing parliamentary elections next year

More than 180 million lei is to be earmarked for organizing and conducting next year's parliamentary elections. The figure is stipulated in the budget of the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.

The money is allocated for printing ballots, invitations to vote, badges, electoral lists, promotional items for the information campaign, stamps, for setting up voting booths and for other expenses.

Also, the money will be used to establish polling stations, including abroad, and to remunerate electoral officials.

The CEC’s budget for 2025 includes the expenditure estimate for the partial implementation of postal voting: 17 million lei.

It also includes about 11 million lei for the organization of new local elections. Another 62 million lei will go to finance political parties.

In total, the budget of the Central Election Commission for next year is over 341 million lei. The estimated budget will be sent to the Government to be included in the draft state budget law and to Parliament.
