More than 165,000 lei was collected in the sixth edition of the Meaning of Fasting Campaign, this being the largest sum collected from individual donations since the start of the project. Donations were made by people from Moldova and also from abroad, IPN reports.
Annually staged by CCF (Child, Community, Family) Moldova, the current edition of the campaign brought together over 430 persons who donated through the agency of the virtual restaurant on www.rostulpostului.md.
During six editions, the campaign has helped to step up the efforts to collect funds in support of children who live in abject poverty and risk being separated from their families. This year the efforts doubled and the campaign is also near children who flee from the war in Ukraine.
“As the previous years, we will buy not only food products, but also domestic animals and crops for guaranteeing a minimum food ratio for these. Also, the collected money will be used to help the Ukrainian children. At the moment, CCF Moldova supports 20 refugee centers. Here, we take care of the protection of each child and offer assistance to parents. The child-friendly spaces enable the parents to rest and offer interesting activities for children,” CCF Moldova says in a press release.
