Over 1,600 Moldovan citizens have voted abroad by 10:00
By 10:00 hours, Chisinau time, some 1,600 Moldovan citizens have voted at the polling stations opened outside Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vladimir Ghiletchi, representative of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says 31 out of 33 polling stations have been opened by this time at the Moldovan diplomatic missions abroad. At 14:00 the remaining two stations – in Washington and New York – are due to open.
Roughly 17,000 expatriate Moldovans voted in the April 5 poll.
For today's elections, 65,000 ballots were sent to the overseas polling stations.
