Over 1,600 authorizations to export to EU
During the first 5 months of 2009, 1,641 authorizations have been issued for the export to the EU countries, due to the Autonomous Trade Preferences (ATP), Info-Prim Neo quotes data issued by the Ministry for Economy and Commerce.
410 authorizations were issued for wines, which accounts for 55.5% of the quota granted by the EU for this category of products.
The quota for white sugar was used 75% , as 13,501.8 tonnes were exported according to 651 authorizations.
For barley, the Ministry issued 84 authorizations, accounting for 19.7% of the total allowed by the EU. The corn was exported in ration of 46.5 % according to 375 authorizations.
By June 1, the quota for wheat was used 100%, as 30 thousand tonnes were exported.
The ATPs were granted to Moldova on March 1, 2008, pursuing to liberalize the trade with the EU and to create a favorable environment to attract investments.
