Over 160 companies received in 2010 authorization to carry out e-communications activities
The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) authorized last year 169 companies to provide electronic communication services and networks. As of 1 January 2011, a total of 907 companies were authorized to carry out activities on the electronic communications market and 51 other companies to carry out license-specific IT activities, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to ANRCETI, 62 companies notified the Agency they were providing re-broadcasting services, 46 Internet access services, 40 data transmission services, and the remainder telephony and line rental services.
Of the 51 companies authorized to provide IT services, 46 received, until November 10, two licenses for the following activities: services related to the design, development and implementation of automatized information systems and resources of state importance, and services related to their maintenance; and services related to the development, maintenance and implementation of software and information systems of state importance. Other 5 companies received, after November 10, one license for services related to creation, implementation and maintenance of automatized information systems of state importance, including software.
