Over 150 failures in Transnistrian electricity networks during one day

More than 150 breakdowns were recorded on Wednesday in the electricity networks of the Transnistrian region. As a result, 3,208 people were left without electricity. The supply of power to residential buildings was restored, the so-called government in Tiraspol said, quoted by the Transnistrian press, IPN reports.

As many as 1,093 disconnections due to failures have been reported so far this year. On January 8, 51 teams of specialists dealt with the breakdowns using 16 technical units, Novosti Pridnestrovia has said.

Meanwhile, the number of breakdowns in thermal networks exceeded 80 cases. The faults were fixed.

According to the Russian agency TASS, there are deaths caused by the energy crisis in the Transnistrian region. The so-called Ministry of Interior in Tiraspol on January 9 said that a fire caused by the incorrect use of a stove happened in Parcani village of Slobozia district. Nineteen fires caused by stoves, electrical appliances and faulty wiring have been recorded since January 1.
