The cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova by now total 23,947. Of these, 6,403 are active cases. As many as 145,040 tests have been done so far, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health Constantin Rymish told a news conference.
He noted that 16,785 infected persons got cured. A number of 454 patients are in the hospital in a serious state. The death toll from COVID-19 rose to 759, IPN reports.
Vasile Guştiuc, vice director of the National Public Health Agency, said a large number of business entities continue to violate the norms imposed by the authorities. Different violations were identified at 46 of the 171 entities inspected last week. The employees do not measure the body temperature of employees before the start of the workday. Crowdedness is allowed in shopping centers. Masks are not worn in closed areas and the employees do not correctly use the protective equipment.
Director general of the National Food Safety Agency Vladislav Cotici noted that they inspected 444 units and discovered 33 irregularities. He called on the economic operators and private individuals to respect the ordinances made by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission so as to reduce the number of infections with the novel coronavirus.
Sergiu Golovaci, secretary of state at the Ministry of the Interior, stated that 8,000 to 10,000 employees have been daily involved in activities to prevent and fight COVID-19. About 30,000 persons were supervised under self-isolation. The people started to better obey the self-isolation rules.
