Over 13bn lei transferred by CNAM for medical and pharmaceutical services in 2023

The National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) in 2023 transferred more than 13 billion lei for medical and pharmaceutical services provided to the population. The amount is by about 1.8 billion lei higher than a year before, IPN reports, quoting CNAM data.

Overall, CNAM in 2023 accumulated almost 14.6 billion lei revenues in the mandatory health insurance funds, up 1.9 billion or over 15% compared to 2022.

The percentage contributions from salary and other rewards were the main source of revenue. These amounted to almost 7.3 billion lei, followed by 6.8 billion lei transfers from the state budget. The mandatory health insurance premiums in a fixed amount exceeded 200 million lei, up almost 70 million lei against the previous year.

Other revenues collected into the mandatory health insurance funds, including insurance premiums paid by residents of information technology parks, came to over 208 million lei, by almost 14 million more than in 2022.
