The specialists of the water supplier “Apă-Canal Chisinau” have checked over 13,000 water meters so far this year. More than 10,000 water meters of these have a small dimeter (D-15 mm). The others ones are from the private sector and business entities. About 1,700 water meters with different diameters were examined in October, IPN reports.

According to SA “Apă-Canal Chisinau”, the metrological checking of hot and cold water meters in apartments is an obligation of the owners. The water meters must be checked once in five years.

The owners can have the water meters checked after filing an application to the head office of “Apă-Canal Chisinau” situated at 38 Albișoara St, office 101. The applicants must present a document showing the current consumption and meter readings issued by the housing sector manager. The water meters can be taken for metrological checking and repair to office 100 at 38 Albișoara St and to the metrological testing laboratory located at 24 Lunca Bâcului St.

For private individuals, the examination of meters costs 66 lei, while the repair 86 lei, while for legal entities 120 lei and 161 lei respectively.
