In seven months of this year, more than 1,200 young men have been conscripted into the National Army, which is the target figure set by the Government for this year.

According to the Ministry of Defense, compared with the previous years, there has been an increase in the number of conscripts with vocational education. The highest conscription numbers were reported in Causeni, Balti, Straseni, Soroca, Ungheni, Hancesti, Gagauzia, Taraclia, Donduseni, Soldanesti, and Cimislia.

Minister Alexandru Pinzari praised the conscription staff for being able to reach the target despite the coronavirus situation. “The good quality of the conscription effort during the spring-summer season of this year is also due to the close collaboration that you had with the central and local authorities,” minister Pinzari was quoted in a MoD press release.
