More than 11.54 billion lei revenues were collected into the Mandatory Health Insurance Funds last year, up 83 million lei compared with the projected sum. Out of the total sum, 5.7 billion lei was the own income without transfers from the state budget. A sum of 11.552 billion lei was spent from the Funds in 2021, IPN reports.
The National Health Insurance Company said that among the main sources of income were the percentage contributions from the salary and other recompenses, in the amount of over 5.4 billion lei, and the transfers from the state budget that came to about 5.8 billion lei. The mandatory health insurance premiums totaled over 137 million lei, while other revenues added up to about 90 million lei.
The transfers to the contracted medical and pharmaceutical service providers accounted for the largest part of the costs, 11.4 billion lei. The sum allocated for the provided medical services in 2021 was by about 3.2 billion lei higher than in the corresponding period of 2020.
In 2022, the Mandatory Health Insurance Funds will include revenues and costs totaling about 12.3 billion lei.
