Over 1,000 members and sympathizers of PCRM seek dismissal of government

Members and sympathizers of the Communist Party (PCRM) on November 22 marched on the streets of Chisinau, demanding that the government be dismissed. According to the organizers, the event involved over 1,000 persons. The police confirmed the figure. The marchers chanted: “Leanca in jail”, “New elections, Government in the bin,” IPN reports.

Communist MP Grigore Petrenco accused the Government of committing wrongdoings, frauds and crimes. He said those who are in power promote their own interests and forgot about the people who live in poverty.

The protesters also prepared an application to Parliament, concerning the dismissal of the Government. Several Communist lawmakers took the application to the Government too. “This application will facilitate the task of Mister Leanca as regards the decision to tender his resignation,” said Artur Reshetnikov.

His colleague Iurie Muntean said the people give a vote of no confidence to the Government, while on November 23 they will stage new protests. “Tomorrow we expect Mister Leanca, who is now not in office, to come out before the people,” he stated.

On Saturday, the Communists will protest in the Great National Assembly Square to seek the dismissal of the Government.
