Government decided on Wednesday, 22 February, to allot 1,461,5 lei to cover the expenses regarding the participation of Moldova in the International Contest „Eurovision-2006”. According to decision draft, as for the moment it is not known exactly the number of participants at the contest, the proposed amount is estimative and can be changed depending on circumstances. The costs report was drafted by the national public audio-visual institution „Teleradio-Moldova”, according to proposals of the public authorities involved in preparation actions for Eurovision. 13 singers will participate in the national final for Eurovision of 25 February. This will be broadcasted live by the public television. Organisers’ decision to broadcast the pre-selection and the final has as ground to vow the candidates to similar conditions of the European contest. This year Moldova is qualified automatically in the final of Eurovision, due to 6-th place gained at the edition of last year by the band Zdob si Zdub with the song “Boonica bate doba”..
